On January 25th, 2015, Colin Wyckoff, also known as "Kitty0706" online, passed away after a long-term struggle with leukemia. At the time, not only had I lost track of what he had been up to in the last few years, I had no idea that he was diagnosed with said affliction. It was a shock in more ways in than one.

Colin's YouTube channel was home to such Garry's Mod machinima classics as Left 4 Farts, Link's Retarded Day, Moments With Heavy, Team Fabulous 2, and of course, the Elliot Goes To School series, which was very near and dear to my heart. I watched it ad nauseum in my college days, even though Source Filmmaker was just around the corner and would open up the doors to far more sophisticated and nuanced humor videos made with Valve video game characters. But the obnoxious and obscure sort of comedy inherent to Colin's videos were right up my alley, and in my opinion, he was among the cream of the crop in the oft-belittled world of G-Mod animation. They definitely got me through some less fun times in my young life, and I still revisit the series from time to time. Coincidentally, his rate of uploads dropped right around when he first being hospitalized for his illness, though I never noticed because I don't follow personalities through social media as avidly as others do.

The news broke my heart when I first heard it, and he will most definitely be missed, but he's one of those few fallen heroes whose memory I can think back on and smile. It's hard to cry about someone who made me laugh countless times. This minuscule tribute just happens to capture one of those magic moments for me.
